Churchyard Temple

I took this photograph recently in the remote St Catherine's Church in the hamlet of Temple on the very top of Bodmin Moor.
It seemed symbolic at the time. The empty path ahead whose destination was a single grave.
Temple was where we moved when we first came to Cornwall. We rented a draughty and eerie farmhouse called Hill House. I loved it and loved Temple too. It had such atmosphere. Atmosphere enough to make the swift exit of the huge muscular, tattoed Leicester lads from the removal firm quite comic. I think they imagined themselves in 'An American Werewolf in London' and were very anxious to "Keep to the path!"
And yes conspiracy fans it does have a Knights Templar connection, the original church being founded by them as a half way house for pilgrims crossing the Moor in order to avoid the treacherous sea journey around Lands End.
